HAILSHAM COMMUNITY COLLEGE (HCC) has expressed grief at the terrible death of Darren Croxton.
Mr Croxton, aged 25 and a former HCC student, died from serious injuries despite efforts to save his life, at 7.20am in Royal Sussex County Hospital on Monday, January 23.
He had been found collapsed in Bramble Drive (Hailsham) at 4.30pm on Sunday, January 22 - following an alleged pre-planned fight in nearby woodland.
Ten people were taken into custody including seven young people under the age of 18 arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Police have confirmed that another three people, all in their 20s, were arrested for violent disorder.
Results are expected for a post mortem establishing the cause of Mr Croxton’s death.
Philip Matthews, Acting Principal for HCC, said: “We are saddened and shocked by the tragic death of Darren Croxton who is a former HCC student.
“The college wishes to convey our deepest sympathy to his family at this difficult time.”
