A SCHOOL is celebrating after it was told by an OFSTED inspector that it had made good progress since it was placed in special measures.
OFSTED inspector Jacqueline White visited Marshlands Primary School in Hailsham on March 15.
Her visit came about after the school was put in special measures in 2006 and then moved out of that category in 2008.
A subsequent OFSTED inspection in October 2009 highlighted areas to improve such as encouraging pupils to be more independent in deciding how to move their work on and making activities in lessons more practixal and engaging.
But the inspector now said the school which has seen pupil numbers grow steadily had made ‘good progress in making improvements and good progress in demonstating a better capacity for sustained improvement’.
