Hailsham van driver dies in A27 smash

A VAN driver from Hailsham died after his vehicle hit a tree on the A27 near Selemeston.

The collision happened on Thursday March 17 at around 9.30pm between Charleston Farm House and Middle Farm.

The 53-year-old driver from Hailsham was confirmed dead at the scene.

Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The road was closed in both directions until 2.07am following the collision which involved a white Citroen Berlingo van travelling west.
