Hailsham woman airlifted to hospital after fall

A woman was flown to hospital by air ambulance after an incident in Hailsham this morning (Thursday, December 17).

The Kent, Sussex and Surrey Air Ambulance was alerted at 11am to reports of an injured female in Butts Field.

A spokesperson from the air ambulance confirmed she had injured her abdomen following an accidental fall, which is believed to have been from a horse.

The South East Coast Ambulance Service was also in attendance at the incident, but it was decided to convey the patient to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, in Brighton, by helicopter.
