A Fairtrade market will take place tomorrow (Saturday March 7) at Clinton Hall in Seaford.

The market will run from 10am until 1pm and entrance is 50p.

You will have the chance to taste Fairtrade tea and coffee for free and samples of cake made from Fairtrade products.

There will be various stalls of Fairtrade goods including clothing, crafts, food products and a Fairtrade raffle.

Fairtrade means that small-scale producers receive a guaranteed payment for the products which is fixed above the ‘market rate.’ A proportion of the ‘premium’ that they receive is reinvested in the local community, producing benefits such as improved schooling, health and sanitation. How to spend the premium is decided collectively by the producers.
