GRAYS School in Newhaven is celebrating after being awarded a stack of equipment to encourage healthier lifestyles.
The windfall is all thanks to the school taking part in the Sainsbury’s Active Kids 2011 campaign.
Sainsbury’s HR manager Sarah Gee visited the school to celebrate the success of this year’s campaign.
Customers shopping at Sainsbury’s in Newhaven between Wednesday February 9 to Tuesday May 31 were able to collect Active Kids vouchers and donate them to a local registered organisation.
The collection process proved a huge success for Grays School, which ended up with 39,080 vouchers.
This was more than any other voucher collection across organisations in Lewes District.
The school in Western Road used their vouchers to exchange for a range of Active Kids equipment, to benefit pupils both inside and outside the classroom.
Sarah said: “The school really took the campaign to their hearts this year with the vouchers they collected.”
