Youngsters, parents and even a pantomime dog strode out along the lanes of Heathfield to help raise money for the town’s future indoor pool.
Jack Hampton, from the Heathfield Partnership’s pool committee, said: “It was a real fun day. The main aim was not just to raise money - although that was very welcome - but to raise the profile of the project as well.”
The group walked from Trading4U in the town to the Heathfield Leisure Centre. Together with the £5,000 donation from Santander, they helped contribute more than £7,000. This brings the total amount up to £800,000. Jack went on: “The children loved it. They had a great time at the Leisure Centre and a bouncy castle.”
