THE CHILDREN With Cancer Fund (CWCF) is a local charity based in Polegate which supports children and their families who have received a diagnosis of cancer.
Charity directors Chris and Ursula Downton said they were ‘always amazed and very proud’ of the support they received locally from individuals, businesses and community groups.
It means that more than 70 families currently on the charity’s list are given support as well as the oncology nurses at Eastbourne District General Hospital.
CWCF has issued a plea for volunteers to distribute its important newsletter around neighbourhoods.
A statement by the couple on behalf of CWCF said: “We are in the final stages of producing our latest newsletter, which is distributed locally and allows us to keep everyone up to date with how we use their donations.
“This year we need some help with our distribution.
“We need some people who would be willing to deliver our newsletters in the Hailsham and Polegate area.
“Do you have a few minutes to spare just to walk around a couple of streets where you live to help us out?
“Are you someone who would like to volunteer to coordinate the walking deliveries for us in the Hailsham area, perhaps you are part of a group with a few hours to spare to help us out?”
The statemewnt added: “Any time that you might have would be very much appreciated by CWCF and if you are able to help us out, please contact Toni on 07984266896 or e-mail her on firstname.lastname@example.org”
