HISTORICAL tours of Seaford and Alfriston will be staged by expert Kevin Gordon this Jubilee weekend.
They will last more than an hour and will explain some of the history of the area.
The Seaford tour starts at 10.30am on Saturday June 2, (meet at the Tourist Information Office in Church Street) and the Alfriston tour starts at 2pm the same day, (meet at the Market Cross).
The Alfriston Road Cemetery tour starts at 2pm on Sunday June 3, (meet at the Cemetery Gates).
Tickets cost £5 from the Seaford Tourist Information office or on the day.
Kevin has been providing tours of Seaford and Alfriston for several years but the cemetery walk is new.
Kevin said: “During the cemetery tour I explain the history of burials in Seaford and point out some of the people of note who are buried in the cemetery. Many people do not realise that Seaford Cemetery is also one of the largest Commonwealth War Cemeteries in the South and there are some fascinating stories to be told about the soldiers buried there.”
Information about other historic walks, such as Tide Mills walk, is available from the Tourist Information Office on 01323 897426.
