ONE OF the most picturesque horse-training venues in the south of England is still available to buy.
The eight-furlong gallops, on a panoramic ridge in a gap between the Weald and South Downs near Polegate, is available at a price of £49,500.
It was among 22 lots on through Clive Emson land and property auctioneers at the Hilton Brighton Metropole, Brighton, yesterday, September 20.
Known simply as The Gallops, at Jevington, the 5.9-acre site is located on the edge of Friston Forest, with ‘stunning views’ over the South Downs National Park.
Sam Kinloch, a senior auction valuer with Clive Emson, said: “We were surprised that bidders didn’t get away from the starting gate because there was a lot of prior interest.
“There may be some jockeying for offers later on.”
Clive Emson’s next auction takes place at the same venue at 11am on Tuesday, November 1.
