A driver, who was in a collision with a teenage motorcyclist, might be oblivious to the collision after he failed to stop, a Sussex Police spokesman said.
Police believe the driver may not have realised he had collided with the man in Hailsham – despite the motorcyclist falling from his bike and needing hospital treatment.
PC Andy Smith from the Sussex Police Road Policing Unit said: “The motorcyclist was in the outside lane when the other vehicle, possibly a dark-coloured Ford Galaxy, moved from the inside lane and side-swiped the bike, causing the rider to fall off.
“Fortunately he was only slightly injured and we believe that it’s quite possible that the driver of the car just didn’t realise that a collision had taken place.”
The 19-year-old from Eastbourne, was treated for minor injuries at Eastbourne District General Hospital.
The collision happened on the A22, 200 yards north of the A295 at 2.35pm on Wednesday, November 21. If you are or know the driver or saw the incident, call Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 906 of 21/11.
