It’s a jungle out there in Rio2 computer-animated comedy

If the wet weather continues and bored kids test parental patience to the max, it’s always good to know there’s a fun family film all set to entertain.

Billed as ‘More Music, more Laughs, more fun!’ The colourful Rio 2 is a 3D computer-animated musical adventure-comedy film produced by Blue Sky Studios, directed by Carlos Saldanha and is the sequel to the 2011 film Rio (the studio’s first film to have a sequel outside of their existing Ice Age franchise).

Rio was set in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro (hence the title) and is where Rio 2 begins.

With a new flock of top actors and musical talent his time around fans of the original film will be please to see the return of the lovelorn pair of blue macaws, Blu, Jewel, and their three kids. They find themselves thrown from Rio de Janeiro to the wilds of the Amazon rainforest where most of the plot takes place.

Rio2 features the returning voices of Jesse Eisenberg, Anne Hathaway,, Jamie Fox, George Lopez, Tracy Morgan, Jemaine Clement, Leslie Mann, Rodrigo Santoro, and Jake T. Austin.

The film was released internationally earlier this year and, though it received mixed reviews. was a box office success, grossing around $485 million.

Rio2, 101 minutes long, and has a ‘U’ certificate. It will be shown at the De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill on Wednesday August 27 at 2pm. Tickets cost £4.
