JUBILEE EXCITEMENT is building as organisers of Uckfield’s day of celebrations finalise their plans. Fun and games for every member of the family start at the Victoria Pleasure Ground at about 5pm on Monday, June 4.
There will be a host of live acts on stage running throughout the evening including music from local groups, singers and even short playlets to keep the crowds entertained.
Next comes a procession through the town starting at 7.30pm and heading to the Pleasure Ground. At 10.15pm there will be a blessing by local churches and the Jubilee Beacon will be lit. Get set then for an evening of patriotic and rousing singing to the accompaniment of the Concert Brass.
The evening ends with a spectacular firework display. Committee spokesman Ian Smith said: “This is a once in a lifetime event for Uckfield.”
