Keavy, 14, attends Rye Studio School and dreamt of being a hairdresser from a very early age. Keavy enjoyed her work experience at EHA and wanted to study for her City and Guilds NVQ L1 but no funding was available, Linda said she was happy to step in to help. She said: “Keavy is such a talented and motivated young lady and I felt she should be given the opportunity of studying with EHA one day a week. She has been given a full scholarship. Cheynes Training has kindly sponsored the registration fee, and EHA will deliver the training and qualification for free.”

Keavy said she is thrilled to have been offered the chance to see her dreams come true. She said: “I really enjoy my time at EHA and I have learnt so much from being there. I really appreciate all the help I have had from Linda and the staff there and I am so grateful for this opportunity.”

Linda, who was invited to meet with Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls when he visited Hastings recently, said EHA plans to find Keavy an apprenticeship when she has completed her NVQ L1 in two years’ time when she is 16.

Linda said both herself and her team are passionate about raising standards within the hair and beauty industry and give something back to the community, adding: “Last year an amazing show was put on by candidates of EHA at Bannatyne Spa Hotel, which helped raise hundreds of pounds towards a scholarship fund for people who don’t fit the criteria for funding, and who need a helping hand to get into employment.” Visit www.elitehairacademy.co.uk.
