RAILWAY Nursery’s kitchen has been undergoing a transformation over the past few weeks thanks to volunteers from Webber Construction.

The company carries out a community project every six to 12 months and this time chose the Newhaven nursery, in Norton Terrace.

Nursery owner Nicole Webster said the work meant they would be able to do much more cooking in the kitchen.

She said: “It’s absolutely lovely. They have done such a lovely job.”

A team from Webber Construction added units and tiled and painted walls, but the nursery is still appealing for anyone with a spare fridge to get in touch.

Company director Robert Webber, from Webber Construction, said: “We are doing it for free. We try and do a community investment project every six to 12 months.

“We chose the nursery as our daughter goes there and we saw the current kitchen was not in a great condition.

“We normally do work to charities, associations, but we feel the nursery plays a vital role in our lives and those of the local community and it will enable them to provide more meals and get kids involved in cooking.”
