LETTER: Lewes '˜on Boxing Day'
Two mating swans were shot dead with an air rifle.
The birds, one of them pregnant, were shot repeatedly from close range at Ravensbury Park, south London.
Steve Knight of the Swan Sanctuary in Shepperton said the “healthy, beautiful” mute swans were “lured” from their nest.
“Some mindless moron killed them.”
The centre has offered a £500 reward to catch the killer. Swap fox for swan and hounds for air rifle and we have Lewes on boxing day.
