Lewes Bonfire Societies battle it out at annual football match

The Annual Bonfire Cup will take place at the Dripping Pan in Lewes on Sunday May 10.

It is the fifth year the inter-bonfire society tournament has been held and it has a major date in the Lewes calendar.

The matches will feature players from Cliffe, Lewes Borough, South Street, Southover, Nevill, Waterloo, Commercial Square and Newick, who will battle it out for the coveted Bonfire Cup Trophy. There will be local produce stalls, a mini beer festival at the Rook Inn and music from Waterloo Pipers and Cliffe Drummers.

Doors open 10am. Entry is free. The first game starts at 11am. The final is due to finish late afternoon.

It will raise money for Lewes Football Club and provide a fun day out for residents.
