A Lunch Club will be launched by the Lewes Chamber of Commerce with its first event on Thursday March 26.

It will give local business people the chance to network and chat at The Dorset in Malling Street, Lewes.

The event will begin at 12.30pm, including a lunch of a main course with a meat, fish and vegetarian option, and finishing at 2.30pm.

After lunch there will be a ten minute presentation by one of the members, telling you a bit more about their business.

For this first event, the speaker will be Clare Crouch of hrscreative, who has organised the lunch.

The lunch is open to non-members as well.

The price includes the lunch, a drink plus coffee/tea.

If you cancel in the week of the event the chamber cannot refund as it has to pay The Dorset.

The chamber of commerce is asking for people to pre-book and is discouraging people from turning up on the day, to ensure the pub has enough members of staff to cater for them.

A spokesperson for the chamber said: “Although the lunch is slightly more structured, in that it is a sit down meal and there will be a ten minute presentation, we still want people to relax and enjoy each other’s company, so you’ll still have plenty of time to chat and network.”

The chamber was founded in 1935 and has around 150 businesses of every size, from small retailers to large manufacturers, from architects and designers to builders.
