Rumours circulating in Lewes that the Cancer Research Shop at the bottom of School Hill has closed are unfounded.
Cancer Research UK asked local volunteer Anthony Dicks to set the record straight.
He said the shop closed temporarily on Saturday to allow for a major refit.
“Our local shop has been chosen for this significant step because it has been so successful in raising much-needed funds for research into cancer, its causes and treatments,” he said.
“We’ll be ready and open for business next week and look forward to welcoming customers old and new.”
