Lewes District swings to the Conservatives

THE local election results have caused a shift in the balance of power on Lewes District Council.

The Conservative party can claim the honours, taking 22 of the seats (up from 18) while the Liberal Democrats took 18 seats

(down from 21).

There was success for a solitary Independent candidate. Full results in the 21 wards, with 41 seats at stake, were as
