Lewes firefighters called to burning rubbish

Firefighters were called to reports of a burning rubbish pile in Lewes yesterday afternoon (Sunday).

A crew was called to the incident in Eastgate Street at around 4.26pm and used a hose reel to extinguish the flames.

Earlier in the day they were sent to Stone Hall Cottages, in Lewes following reports of a car leaking fuel.

They arrived at the scene at around 12.31pm and used an environmental pack to make the area safe. The incident was left with the police.
