The Bell Gabriel at Market Tower, Lewes, will ring tonight (Friday, July 24) to mark the 200th anniversary of the end of the Battle of Waterloo.

All the bells in Lewes were rung to celebrate the winning of the battle exactly 200 years and six weeks ago, as Lewes was six weeks late hearing the news.

To commemorate the historic victory, all the bells in Lewes will be rung again tonight at 7.30pm.
