THERE was no need to get on the ferry to get a taste of France on Saturday (September 1) when the Dieppe Market returned to Newhaven High Street for the annual Fete de Newhaven.
Running alongside it was the Newhaven Market, with a large number of community group stalls, children’s rides and activities, live music provided by the Maestro Academy Players and a magician performing tricks for all ages.
There was a real buzz in the High Street as hundreds of people turned out to shop and join in the fun.
The event was run by Newhaven Community Development Association (NCDA) and organiser Sally Foote said: “It was great to see so many people enjoying themselves.
“Events like this provide a fantastic opportunity to bring life back into the High Street even if it is just for the day.
“May I take this opportunity to thank the event’s sponsors, Veolia Environmental Services, for a great day out for the whole community.”
