Lions’ celebrate decades of service in Hailsham

Three Hailsham Lions have been honoured for their outstanding service at a charterlunch.

Len Miller was honoured for 45 years’ service while Kelvin Layer celebrated 30 years and Brian Saunders 20 years’ service.

At the lunch President Gerry Constable also presented Bob Prebble with a £750 cheque towards the Air Ambulance Fund, one of several charities supported by the club.

In her speech President Gerry thanked the support given to the Hailsham Club by the media, including weekly newspapers, Radio Sussex, the Hailsham Pavilion and Hailsham FM. She also confirmed the club intended to embrace all forms of social networking, including Facebook, to help promote the club. There will also be an Awareness Day on November 22 in Vicarage Field, Hailsham, where Lions’ members will be happy to discuss their work with the public.
