All welcome at Newhaven Lifeboat Slurp Our Soup fundraiser
A fundraising day will be held in aid of Newhaven Lifeboat with the chance to have soup, cheese and rolls for only £3.50 a head.
The annual Slurp Our Soup Day will be held on Friday January 25 from 11.30am to 1.30pm.
It is being staged on the RNLI’s SOS Day, the organisation’s biggest national fundraising day.
On the last Friday in January lifeboat stations and RNLI supporters around the UK and Ireland hold lots of fun events, in a bid to brighten up the dull and cold month.
Slurp our Soup will take place at the Lifeboat House on the West Quay.
All are welcome to the event, where they can enjoy a warming lunch time snack of soup, cheese and rolls for the bargain price of £3.50 per person. Cups of tea or coffee will also be available for a small donation.
Joint secretaries for Newhaven & District Lifeboat Society, Paula and Graham Hillman, said: “It is a great opportunity to see inside the Lifeboat House and enjoy some friendly chatter.
“Supporting SOS Day this January at Newhaven Boathouse, West Quay, Newhaven, will help keep the RNLI’s volunteer lifeboat crews trained and equipped for the year ahead.”
The Lifeboat shop will be open for the sale of souvenirs.
