Animal sanctuary appeals for land

A well-known animal sanctuary is appealing for people with spare land to come forward so it can help rescue more horses and ponies.

Foxhollow Animal Sanctuary in Hambrook has been inundated with people calling about equines which need rehoming – but said it was running out of room to house such big animals.

It is now hoping people in the community will let the organisation take charge of spaces which are currently not being used.

Manager Tammy Burge said: "We are not expecting people to look after the animals – we just need them to let us use their land. We'd keep the animals and make sure they are okay and have food.

"We've been getting a lot of calls and in a lot of cases we've had to say we probably can't take their animals because we simply don't have the room."

Anyone who thinks they can help should pop into the sanctuary in Priors Leaze Lane, or call 07990 722615.
