Back in business after Uckfield High Street offices severely damaged by fire

SWINDELLS is back in business three days after fire destroyed a substantial part of its Uckfield High Street offices.
Most of the staff of the long established firm of chartered accountants and tax advisers have been temporarily relocated to the company’s Seaford offices.
Happily, the firm had procedures in place to ensure that all client data and their entire systems was safely backed up off-site.
The last backup was made just moments before the fire struck.
With the help of IT support company Trident Professional IT Services, the systems were rebuilt by Tuesday, enabling staff to start work again on the Wednesday.
The firm’s IT partner, Robert Willison said: “Watching our premises burn on Sunday night was a horrible experience and on Monday morning we spent a tense few hours waiting for the fire brigade to give us access to the undamaged section.
“You plan for the worst never really expecting that these things will transpire.
“When a major issue like this happens, it makes all the hours of careful planning worthwhile.”
The Uckfield office is open to receive clients as usual from the Olives Yard entrance, although most staff will be Seaford based until the Uckfield offices are fully reinstated. All phone numbers are operational.
