Bodiam Castle extends winter opening hours
Bodiam Castle will be open for longer hours this winter.
Castle custodian George Bailey said: "In November, many houses and gardens are closed for the winter, but Bodiam Castle stays open right the way through to the spring.
"Now we have extended our normal November and December weekend opening to five days per week. So the fairytale castle, with its beautiful wide moat, romantic ruins and spectacular towers can offer its impressive views on more crisp winter day than have previously been possible.
"The castle is open on extra days, Wednesday to Sunday, from the beginning of November up to December 21.
"So if you like exploring during a quieter time of the year, you will find a trip to the castle this winter will be a real journey of discovery.
"The shop is open on the same days filled with gift ideas and opportunities to buy some unusual Christmas presents While the Wharfside Tearoom will also be offering delicious Christmas lunches and seasonal fayre."
On the weekends of December 6/7, 13/14 and 20/21, children can follow a seasonal trail around the castle and then meet Santa in his grotto and receive a gift as a reward.
Bodiam Castle, shop and tearoom are open Wednesday to Sunday from 1 November to 22 December and weekends from 27 December to end of January 2009, from 10.30am until 4pm, with last entry to the castle at 3pm.
