Bonfire society blasts its message home

AROUND 5,000 spectators enjoyed Newick Bonfire Society's bonfire celebrations on Saturday.

The society threw its support behind the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath, with a Save the PRH set-piece.

More than 4,000 torches burnt brightly during the evening's processions and the locals were joined by 20 visiting societies from all over the county.

A successful night was rounded off by an impressive aerial firework display which featured 4,500 worth of pyrotechnics.
