Staff at Southern Water’s Operations Sussex division have chosen Chailey Heritage Foundation as one of the charities to benefit from its fundraising efforts.

Over the next two years staff will be raising money to buy specialist equipment to support the Foundation’s music and drama curricula and for IT and sensory equipment.

It is these areas that will enable young people with complex physical disabilities and health needs to experience the wide range of activities that make a real difference to their lives.

Southern Water Director Geoff Loader, along with staff members Kevin Short, Ian Paragreen, Alex Hughes and Kevin Buck, visited Chailey Heritage Foundation and were treated to a memorable pantomime based on the story of Little Red Riding Hood performed by members aged 16 and above.

Afterwards they presented a cheque for £1,800 to Chailey’s President, Mrs Verena Hanbury, and members of the cast.

These funds were raised at the lunch held to celebrate the opening of the Southern Water’s new wastewater treatment works at Peacehaven and included a generous matched donation from Southern Water.

Mrs Hanbury said: “My thanks to Southern water and all those who so generously contributed to this wonderful donation to Chailey Heritage School.”
