Cannabis farm found at Newhaven

Three London men have been arrested by police after a cannabis factory was found in a house in Newhaven.

Officers executed a drugs warrant at a home in Haven Way on Thursday (January 30) and found 61 cannabis plants being cultivated inside the building.

A 29-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of being involved in the production of cannabis.

Further raids were then carried out in London.

A 31-year-old man and a 56-year-old man, both from London, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to produce cannabis.

Officers also seized half a kilogram of cannabis and around £18,000 in cash.

The three men were released on bail until 31 March while officers carry out further inquiries.

Detective Sergeant Ross Bartlett said: “The arrests were made as part of a long-running investigation into the production and supply of cannabis in East Sussex.

“We will investigate every piece of information given to us about drug-dealing and production.

“Please contact us if you have any information at all about drugs or suspicious behaviour in your community so that we can look into it.”
