Cash boost for iconic landmark

Work on Beachy Head lighthouse is set to begin in the spring after campaigners raised thousands of pounds.

Campaigners have handed over a cheque for more than £25,000 to ensure the initiative to bring the iconic landmark back to its former glory begins.

The goal is to repaint the iconic red and white stripes on the lighthouse.

The repainting is scheduled to start in the spring and take a month to complete.
