Cbeebies TV presenter Sarah Jane Honeywell will officially open East Sussex Wildlife Rescue and Ambulance Services new casualty care centre at Whitesmith between Hailsham and East Hoathly on Saturday, September 4 at 2.30pm.
WRAS volunteers have been working hard since the begining of April to get phase one oc the centre complete and casualties move in next week just before the official opening.
This new centre will make a major difference to the welfare of the animals in WRAS's care. There is a new first aid and treatment room, larger food preparation and cleaning area, three casualty rooms so prey and predators can be kept separately and infected casulaties can be easily isolated too.
There is also a new educational room for meetings and training as well as an office and volunteer area.
Funds are now needed to complete phase two of the centre which is to construct some indoor large animal pens, a wet room, and additional caging for the casualties rooms as well as finish purchasing the equipment needed in the educational area.
