Cookery genius Prue Leith gives life talk at shop

COOKERY author, TV celebrity and charity founder Prue Leith will discuss her life and careers at a special event hosted by ‘Much Ado Books’ in Alfriston.

The talk will help raise much-needed funds in support of St. Wilfrid’s Hospice which cares for patients from across East Sussex.

Cate Olson, partner at Much Ado, said she was thrilled that Prue would be at the special event.

Cate Olson said: “She is among the few people who have genuinely changed the way we cook. And it is an extra pleasure that we can raise funds for St. Wilfrid’s, which does such good work.

“Prue has led a fascinating life, and we are really looking forward to hearing her talk.”

Prue’s life has encompassed an astonishing array of interests and achievements.

She founded a catering business and a Michelin-starred restaurant; wrote cookery columns for national papers; founded a variety of charities; starred as a judge on the hit TV show, ‘Great British Menu’; penned influential and best-selling cookery books; and she has published several novels.

The talk will be at Deans Place Hotel, Alfriston on October 11. Doors will open at 6.30 for a 7pm start.

Tickets costing £17.50 include a glass of wine and light nibbles, as well as a copy of ‘Relish’, which Prue will sign on the night.

A portion of each ticket price will go to St Wilfrid’s Hospice.

Tickets are only available in advance, from Much Ado Books. Stop in the shop, phone 01323 871222, or consult the website www.muchadobooks.com
