Councillors hope a cash donation toward a Polegate facility will prove their commitment to the town hall.
Polegate Town Council has put its money where its mouth is by contributing £1,000 from the Grant Budget towards the cost of installing a hearing loop at Polegate Community Centre (PCC)
The PCC association members have been wanting to install the system for the hard of hearing for a considerable time.
But when other urgent and necessary works have always cropped up the scheme was postponed - now, however, the work can proceed.
President of the Community Centre Association, Mr Jim Dobell, said the organisation was very pleased and grateful for the money.
He said: “The PCC is very grateful to the council for the donation.
“Having the money will hereby allow the facility to be installed, which will make a huge difference to those with a hearing impairment disability.”
The cheque was presented to the association on behalf of the town council.
