THE PLANNING committee will decide make a decision tonight which could change the face of Newhaven forever as it evaluates two schemes put forward for regenerating the town.

The meeting is open to the public and takes place at Tideway School, in Southdown Road, Newhaven on Wednesday May 23 at 6pm.

Lewes District Council’s planning committee will decide whether to grant planning permission for the proposed Asda store and Barratts homes development on East Side or whether to grant permission for the proposed Tesco food store, transport interchange and associated port improvements on Railway Quay.

The agenda and accompanying reports for the meeting are now available on the Lewes District Council website at http://cmispublic.lewes.gov.uk/Public/Meeting.aspx?meetingID=464
