Cyclist fractures spine in collision with car in Peacehaven

A CYCLIST has suffered a fractured spine following a collision with a car in Peacehaven near the Texaco garage on Saturday September 2.

Sussex Police said the 48-year-old cyclist was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital with serious but non life threatening injuries.

Police and emergency services were called to the Texaco garage on Marine Drive near Telscombe Cliffs at around 3.15pm following reports that the red Kia car was turning into the garage when the cyclist collided with the rear of the car.

The 29-year-old driver of the Kia was uninjured.

A police spokesperson said: “The cyclist has suffered a fractured spine and remains in hospital in a stable condition. If you witnessed the collision and haven’t yet spoke to police please call 101 quoting 999 of 2/9.”
