Double tragedy after car collides with tree in Hailsham

TWO men have been killed after the car they were in collided with trees at Hailsham last night (Friday, February 13).

Three men were travelling along the A22 when the Peugeot car they were in lost control.

The accident happened at 9.05pm in the northbound lane.

Two men died at the scene while a third was taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital with serious injuries.

The road was shut for nine hours while police examined the scene and debris was cleared.
