Driver dies after vehicle hits deer

A man died in a crash after two vehicles hit a deer near Heathfield.

The 51-year-old Citreon Berlingo driver from Netherfield died at the scene of the accident on the B2192 Heathfield-Lewes road at Easons Green near Halland last night (Friday Nov 6) at 4.55 pm.

A 50-year-old woman Vauxhall Astra driver from Heathfield was slightly hurt and suffered shock.

A Sussex police spokesman said: "Both vehicles were collision with a deer in the carriageway and, sadly, the driver of the Berlingo died at the scene from the injuries he received."

Police are investigating the crash under the name Operation Theydon and anyone who can help with information is asked to contact them through 08456070999.
