Entries open for the Lewes District Artwave Festival

Artists in Lewes District are being asked to take part in the 20th Artwave Festival.

It is co-ordinated by Lewes District Council and is a not-for-profit visual arts festival which promotes local art and crafts.

Studios, gardens, living rooms and community spaces were used last year to display art by individuals and groups, who are encouraged to join in.

Organisers said 2012 saw a fantastic array of work, with venues welcoming tens of thousands of visitors to the festival.

The Hillcrest Centre in Newhaven put on a silent auction and children’s workshops alongside their Harold Mockford exhibition, while a wood turning demonstration took place at Stafford Road Open House in Seaford.

Entries are now open and can be accessed here www.artwavefestival.org or contact the Artwave team on 01273 484002 or artwave@lewes.gov.uk for more information.

Please note that entry forms need to be returned by Tuesday April 2 by 12 noon and venues/events must be located within, or nearby, the Lewes District.

Artwave is a not-for-profit event co-ordinated by Regeneration & Economic Development department, Lewes District Council.

It has established itself over two decades, starting in the 1980s as an art trail in Lewes town and now covers the whole of the Lewes District, to include Seaford and Newhaven, and the villages in the district.
