Event aims to show there’s lots for young people to do in Seaford

Organisations which would like to take part in a showcase of activities on offer for young people in Seaford are being urged to get in touch.

A Youth Showcase will be held at Seaford Baptist Church on Saturday March 2 from 2pm to 6pm.

A wide range of organisations will attend the event to tell 11-18-year-olds about what they have to offer them.

Organisers Vicky Martin from Seaford Baptist Church and East Sussex County Councillor for Seaford, Carolyn Lambert, said many young people thought there was not a lot on offer for them in the town.

But the pair are hoping to dispel this myth and display the wide variety of activities available to young people aged 11 to 18 in Seaford, ranging from sporting clubs to leisure activities and many more.

Young people will be invited to attend and find out what the town has to offer.

It will also give local organisations the chance to meet each other and identify ways of working together, sharing resources and ideas.

Cllr Lambert (L.Dem, Seaford Sutton) said: “Vicky Martin and I hope that this will be a fantastic opportunity for young people to see what is on offer for them in Seaford.

“I think we have managed to contact all our local organisations but if you do offer something for young people of this age group and we haven’t contacted you, please do get in touch.”
