East Sussex village pub voted 'best in Sussex' up for another award

A village pub which was recently crowned the ‘best in Sussex’ by locals is a finalist for yet another award.

The Eight Bells in Jevington was recently voted the Best Sussex Pub at the Brighton Restaurants Awards Vote Online (BRAVO).

The team at Restaurants Brighton praised the Jevington pub for its ‘beautiful landscaped gardens’ set in a ‘picturesque’ village.

A spokesperson said: “Still a firm favourite with the locals, the pub also attracts a year-round flow of eager pilgrims; walkers, cyclists, daytrippers and tourists, eager to share in the best local beers, tasty bar snacks, à la carte menu and Friday Night Takeaway.”

Now, the Eight Bells been named a finalist for the category of ‘Best Destination Pub’ in the Muddy Stilettos Awards.

The digital lifestyle platform has urged its readers to ‘vote for a pub so brilliant it’s worth a special trip’.

The Muddy Stilettos website states: “The Muddy Stilettos Awards are the most coveted awards for independent lifestyle businesses, running across 28 counties and totally FREE to enter from start to finish.

“Run with positivity and a sense of fun, the Muddy Awards offer our 3.8 million readers a chance to say a massive THANK YOU to their favourite local businesses.”

The Eight Bells has hundreds of TripAdvisor reviews, with an average rating of 4.5.

It prides itself on its ‘welcoming bar and landscaped gardens with the best views around’, as well as its focus on sourcing ‘as much quality, local and sustainable produce as we can’, according to its website.

Voting ends tomorrow (April 18) at 1pm, and winners will be announced on Thursday, May 2.
