FATAL CRASH ON A259

A woman has died after a crash on the A259 on Friday afternoon.

It was the second fatal crash within East Sussex in a week.

A woman had died on Tuesday after a smash at East Hoathly.

Friday's crash happened at about 4.40pm on Friday, July 1, on the A259 Pevensey Marsh Road when a Toyota Corolla travelling east, collided with a Nissan Micra travelling west.

A Citroen C8 then collided with the Nissan.

The Toyota driver, an 80 year old Bexhill man received slight injuries. A 76 year old woman passenger received serious injuries and died in the Eastbourne District General Hospital on Saturday.

The driver of the Nissan, a 52 year old Lewes man received slight injuries, the 38 year old lady driver of the Citroen, from Polegate, was uninjured.
