Festive fun at annual event
Television star David Dimbleby will turn on the Christmas lights in Polegate this year - for a second time.
The Question Time host agreed to start the Christmas countdown in the town five years after he last performed the honour
The switch-on outside the council offices will form part of the annual event from 1pm to 5pm on December 1.
The Dickensian themed event will have a range of activities and attractions on offer including stalls, dancers, singers, bands and a fancy dress parade.
Organisers promise a fun event for all the family with a visit from Father Christmas and miniature train rides.
The town’s shops and cafes will dress their windows and offer mince pies and roasted chestnuts. Residents and visitors are encouraged to dress up in Dickensian and Victorian dress for the event.
