Newhaven was buzzing with activity on Saturday when the annual Fete de Newhaven took place in the High Street.
The Dieppe Market joined the newly regenerated Newhaven Market and a selection of Community Groups to provide the biggest street market that Newhaven has seen for a long time.
Shoppers had the choice of more than 50 stalls offering a wide range of food and drink as well as handmade jewellery, a selection of local craftwork and information of what’s on locally.
High Street traders also reported that their takings were up on the day.
The atmosphere was livened up by children’s entertainer Brillo the Clown and music was provided by the Maestro Academy Players.
The event was organised by the Newhaven Community Development Association (NCDA).
Event organiser Sally Foote said: “It really feels like our High Street is back on track.
“Today’s event was a real success and hopefully an indication of what is to come in the future.
“Many thanks indeed to our funders Veolia Environmental Services, whose continued support of our community events is invaluable to us and to the Newhaven Chamber of Commerce for assisting us in ensuring that the event ran smoothly.”
