WORKING horses on Telscombe Tye, a chance to visit historic buildings in Telscombe Village and a beautiful fireworks display will all be on offer on Saturday September 8.
From 10.30am visitors can see the return of the working horses in an event organised by The Friends of Telscombe Tye with the help of Telscombe Town Council.
Horse and cart rides will be available along with added attractions such as owls, morris dancers, children’s activities, environmental groups and a barbecue Telscombe village.
For the Heritage Festival, three historical buildings will be open in Telscombe Village as part of The National Heritage Open Days.
Stud Farm and St Laurence Church will open in the morning and in the afternoon the Telscombe Village Club will host an art and craft fair.
Stalls will include Alan Baker, multi-award winning author and illustrator displaying and talking about his work; bric-a-brac, lucky dip and raffle, paintings, greeting cards of local landscapes, mosaics, mirrors, textiles for the home, babies and young children. Refreshments will be available.
A Fireworks Extravaganza will start at 8.30pm and last for 20 minutes, with the them of the Diamond Jubilee and Olympics.
Before the display, from 7.30pm, there will be a barbecue and ice creams to buy.
Telscombe Town Council has organised free mini bus services to the Tye, one running from Peacehaven and Telscombe and another from East Saltdean during the day and two runs in the evening, one arriving at the Tye at about 7.15pm and the other around 8.15pm.
