Willingdon Community School achieved its best set of GCSE results ever.
The school saw 77 per cent of pupils achieve five or more A to C grades including English and Maths.
53 per cent of pupils achieved three A or A* grades and 76 per cent achieved one A* or A grade.
Head teacher, Ian Jungius, said: “We are very pleased and it is wonderful seeing these set of outstanding results.
“We have beaten the national trend which is down nationally this year.
“We are very pleased.”
