Gideon Mantell letters up for auction

A COLLECTION of letters from and to the Lewes-born palaeontologist Gideon Mantell, is set to fetch up to £4,500 at an auction later this month.

One letter alone, which was written in Lewes, could sell for up to 1,500 at the Bonhams auction in London on March 23.
