Give your views on Seaford Head School sixth form proposals
Residents are invited to give their views on proposals for the new sixth form centre to be created at Seaford Head School.
A public consultation meeting will be held on Wednesday March 27 at the Old School Building at the Steyne Road site.
Despite having a population of more than 25,000, Seaford currently has no sixth form centre.
This means students have to find the money and the time to travel to Lewes, Brighton or Eastbourne to continue their education.
Head teacher Lynton Golds said: “This is a very exciting stage in the school’s development.
“We are currently working with the EFA, MACE and the appointed architects to achieve the best sixth form centre possible.
“As yet, there are no plans or drawings to see.
“The first step is an initial public consultation meeting on Wednesday 27 March to listen to the views of stakeholders.”
This will be an opportunity for architects and others involved in developing the Sixth Form Centre to receive comments or concerns.
The sixth form will offer excellent teaching and facilities, with the advantage of being part of a successful 11-16 school.
It will offer a wide choice of advanced (level 3) subjects which lead on to a full range of university courses.
Enrichment programmes and extra curricular opportunities, which will develop leadership and personal skills will be available and there will be individual student support to enable all students to achieve their full potential.
The public consultation event will run from 3.30pm - 7.30pm as a drop-in session.
