Hare and Hounds in Framfield plans to extend
A ONCE popular village pub could enjoy a business boost if a building and improvement scheme goes ahead.
A proposal to extend the Hare and Hounds in Framfield has been lodged with Wealden planners.
It aims to build a new entrance to the pub from the car park and a new kitchen.
Customers currently have to walk along a narrow road footpath.
Planners and members are told the pub is currently ‘struggling to survive.’
A new tenant said he is willing to invest in the business and enable it to stay open to benefit the village of Framfield.
The pub achieved short-term fame when Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall visited it to use the facilities before attending a service in the church opposite.
Then landlords auctioned off the loo seat for charity.
The planning application was submitted by Stewart Bungay from Polegate.
